July 2017, Bryce Canyon, Utah. It's 5:30 am, the sun is still peacefully sleeping, as is my brother before I wake him up. We get dressed, pack our things and join my father in the car. We had already been to the Canyon the day before, to catch the sun disappear below the horizon, but the sun sets in the West, and Bryce faces East. Thus, sunrise was when we would have the best light, and us waking up at 5:30 was the price to pay to catch it. We arrived at the Park at 5:50, and set out to walk down, among watchful rock giants, to a nice butte overlooking the valley. A few minutes later, the sun started peeking over the distant mountains, its golden rays slowly illuminating the tall trees and lush vegetation.
